Audit Oversight Facts

The Office of the Utah State Auditor has constitutional and statutory authority over more than 1,800 government entities including state, county and municipal governments along with institutions of higher education, local school districts and special districts

The State Privacy Auditor has responsibility for more than1,500 governmental entities. The office promotes the Utah Fundamental Privacy Principles and works to minimize privacy risk to individuals. This is done by working with the government entities helping them develop and implement privacy programs.

Auditor has financial oversight of the more than $55.8 billion in total revenues and $45.2 expenditures for the State of Utah

Each year the Office of the Utah State Auditor conducts over # financial audits, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the state. This report is critical for the state to maintain its AAA bond rating.
